Who We Are and What We Do

VanTech Business Solutions (VTBS) is a project management consulting firm dedicated to enhancing performance and operational efficiency for businesses and individuals. We specialize in applying project and portfolio best management practices. Established nine years ago, VTBS takes pride in serving the local community of my hometown of Preston, MD. What I cherish most about VTBS is the opportunity to be a servant leader within this community. I have the honor of being the first person of color elected as a Commissioner for the Town of Preston and the first woman and person of color to serve as President Commissioner, the “Mayor”, of Preston. I love my small-town community.

VTBS offers a variety of administrative support services, including Accounting and Finance, Customer and Call Center Services, Non-Profit 501(c)(3) Application Preparation, Small Business Setup, Grant Coordination and Management, Business Center Services, and Transport Services.

The Genesis of VTBS

As a woman of faith, my entrepreneurial journey was divinely inspired. As a young girl in Jonestown (Preston), MD, my introduction to business involved selling popcorn, lemonade, and Kool-Aid freeze cups from my parents’ kitchen. My college education and professional experiences have been a journey of growth, resilience, and continuous learning. In 2015, I embraced my calling with clarity and determination. It was time to seize the moment and execute my vision. I established VanTech Business Solutions in a small office in Preston, building my company into an empire, one step at a time.

Long-Term Aspirations for VTBS

My long-term objectives include expanding our services and increasing our workforce. I am looking forward to VTBS continuing to play a significant role in the economic development and prosperity of the Preston community.

The Impact of MCE and the Women’s Business Center

The support from Maryland Capital Enterprises (MCE) and the Women’s Business Center (WBC) has been essential for VTBS’s growth and expansion. Participating in webinars and conferences hosted by the WBC has connected me with and inspired me through the achievements of other women entrepreneurs. These experiences have raised my confidence, and when the opportunity arose to expand our office space through acquiring a commercial property, I seized it without hesitation. MCE’s financial support was crucial in this effort. I am deeply grateful for the assistance and opportunities provided by MCE and WBC.

Advice for New Entrepreneurs

To anyone embarking on a new business venture, I offer the three “P’s”: Passion, Patience, and Perseverance. Be passionate about your business, be patient for business growth, and don’t give up!
