MCE's Mission and Vision Statement

Mission Statement

To help economically disadvantaged residents of Maryland's Eastern Shore become self-sufficient through entrepreneurship by aiding in the creation and expansion of micro-businesses owned by minorities, women, and others with low incomes and limited assets. We will work with those who have sound ideas for starting or expanding a small business but do not qualify for bank loans by improving access to training, technical assistance and capital. The emphasis will be on those businesses that will promote self-sufficiency and create jobs to help others become self-sufficient, productive members of our community.

Vision Statement

To be recognized as the catalyst for micro business development and the leader in providing micro-loans on Maryland's Eastern Shore. To identify individuals and organizations with a vested interest and establish a framework for sustained investment. To solidify long term viability through stakeholder investment, interest income and endowed funds. To create a micro entrepreneurs environment by developing a continuum of services for micro entrepreneurs' in educational institutions and civic organizations.
